Abstract

Simulation” in a company refers to the use of modeling techniques to imitate the operation of the company in different scenarios and situations. The objective of the simula- tion is to predict the behavior of the system in the real world and improve its performance. This project was carried out by a clothing company belonging to the textile sector of Barran- quilla city. Through the use of Arena software, the restrictions present in the Basic Sweater elaboration process were identi- fied, and each of the procedures to compile information for the elaboration and analysis of the simulated model was observed. The results of the initial model allow the construction of a pro- posal in which it is suggested that the company train the opera- tor in charge of gluing the neck with the blunting to develop this activity more quickly (a constant time of 1.6 minutes), thus eliminating the restriction in this area of the process, which helps to improve the performance of the manufacturing pro- cess. With this proposal, it was possible to reduce the queue to 0% and the number of defective products to 1.76%, allowing an increase in productivity.
