Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Management Science and Operations Research (IJMSOR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The journal enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, redundant publication, and any form of unethical reuse of content.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to systematic similarity screening using recognized plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate or equivalent tools) at the initial editorial stage and, when necessary, during subsequent phases of the review process.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the appropriation of another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbatim copying without proper citation
  • Paraphrasing without adequate attribution
  • Use of data, figures, or tables without permission or acknowledgment
  • Self-plagiarism (reuse of previously published work without disclosure)
  • Fragmented or mosaic plagiarism

Similarity Threshold and Editorial Evaluation

Similarity reports are evaluated by the editorial team in both quantitative and qualitative terms. While no fixed percentage automatically determines rejection, manuscripts exhibiting high similarity levels or clear patterns of unattributed reuse will be subject to editorial action.

  • The evaluation considers:
  • Context and nature of similarity
  • Distribution of matched content
  • Proper citation and referencing practices

Editorial Actions in Case of Suspected Plagiarism

If potential plagiarism is detected, the journal follows procedures aligned with COPE guidelines. Depending on the severity, the following actions may be taken:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript
  • Request for clarification or revision from the authors
  • Suspension of the review process
  • Notification to authors’ affiliated institutions
  • Retraction of published articles

All decisions are documented and handled with due process and confidentiality.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Their work is original and properly referenced
  • All sources are appropriately cited
  • Any reuse of previous work is transparently disclosed
  • Permissions are obtained for copyrighted material

Failure to comply with these requirements constitutes a breach of publication ethics.

Post-Publication Monitoring

IJMSOR maintains vigilance after publication. If plagiarism is identified in published content, the journal may issue:

  • Retractions
  • Corrections
  • Expressions of concern

These actions are conducted in accordance with COPE recommendations and are publicly recorded.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

Through the implementation of rigorous plagiarism detection and evaluation procedures, IJMSOR ensures the integrity, credibility, and reliability of the scientific record, fostering responsible research and ethical scholarly communication.
