Errata, Corrections, Retractions and Article Removal Policy

The International Journal of Management Science and Operations Research (IJMSOR) ensures the integrity of the scientific record through the rigorous and transparent management of errata, corrections, retractions, and, in exceptional cases, article removal.

The journal follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure traceability, transparency, and preservation of scientific knowledge.

1. Errata (Erratum): An erratum will be issued when an error or omission is attributable to the editorial or production process and may affect the interpretation, bibliographic record, or reputation of the authors or the journal, without compromising the scientific validity of the content.

In such cases:

  • The article will be corrected
  • A note will be added to the article indicating the erratum
  • An independent erratum notice will be published and linked to the article
  • The notice will have its own pagination and DOI
  • Version linking will ensure full traceability

 2. Corrections (Corrigendum): A correction will be issued when an error originates from the authors and affects the publication record or academic reputation without altering the scientific validity of the study.

In such cases:

  • The article will be corrected
  • An explanatory note will be included
  • An independent correction notice will be published
  • The notice will have its own DOI and be indexable
  • A transparent version history will be maintained

 3. Retractions (Retraction): A retraction will be issued when:

  • A serious error invalidates the results or conclusions
  • Scientific misconduct is confirmed (plagiarism, data fabrication, duplication, etc.)
  • Ethical violations compromise the integrity of the article

Retractions may be requested by authors or determined by the editorial team.

In such cases:

  • A formal retraction notice with DOI will be published
  • The original article will remain accessible and clearly marked as retracted
  • The reasons for retraction will be explicitly stated
  • The integrity of the scholarly record will be preserved

 4. Article Removal: Article removal is an exceptional measure applied only when correction or retraction is insufficient.

This may occur when:

  • The content is defamatory or violates legal rights
  • A legal order mandates its removal
  • The article poses a serious risk to public health or safety

In such cases:

  • The full text will be removed
  • Essential metadata (title, authors, DOI) will remain available
  • A notice explaining the legal reasons for removal will be published
  • Transparency will be maintained while complying with legal obligations

 5. Editorial principles: IJMSOR ensures that these processes follow:

  • Transparency and traceability of the scientific record
  • Protection of academic integrity
  • Compliance with international standards (COPE)
  • Clear communication with the scientific community
